You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
All freeze-dried food is NON-RETURNABLE, except in the case of the wrong product being shipped to you. Orders on freeze-dried food cancelled after 10 business days and prior to shipment will incur a 10% Restocking fee.
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
We can ship to virtually any address in the continental United States. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the UPS shipping options you choose.
Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
*Please note that all "Free Shipping" promotions pertain only to orders being shipped within the continental U.S.. Orders being shipped to Hawaii, Alaska and Canada may incur additional shipping costs.

Wise Food Storage - All products are currently shipping out within 5-7 business days.
Backpacker's Pantry - All products are currently shipping out within 2-3 business days.
Gourmet Reserves - All products are currently shipping out within 7-10 business days.
Lindon Farms - All products are currently shipping out within 2-3 business days.
If an item in your order is temporarily out of stock, in most cases your shipment will not be delivered until all items are back in stock, and your order can ship complete.
When Will Credit Card be Charged
At the time of your order, your credit card will be “authorized” only. Your card will not be charged until your order is ready to ship.
On all orders which include Freeze-dried food products your credit card will be charged (one) $1 at the time you order your food, with the remaining amount charged to your credit card once your items are close to shipping.
Our Fulfillment Network
In order to serve our customers more efficiently and ship products out as quickly as possible, The Prep Room utilizes several Fulfillment centers, located across the United States. Because each Fulfillment center warehouses different types of products, you may receive your order in multiple shipments if your order includes dissimilar items. In other words, books may come from one place, freeze-dried food may come from another, etc.
It is possible that you may order items that have different availabilities. In most cases, we will not let the slower items hold up the rest of your order. We will ship out your items as soon as they are available to ship. Consequently, your credit card will only be charged for those items, at the time that those particular items are ready to ship.
